“Acoustic Man”

“Acoustic Man” (Jazz/AC/Pop) as an album of 3 tracks; vocal, instrumental, and solo piano performances.

Words by Paul Norman Tapp, music & performance by Zane Kuchera 7/11/24

“The Acoustic Man lyric was in part inspired by the greatest American architectural photographer of the 20th century, Julius Shulman. Shulman’s visionary black and white photographs highlighted by shadow and light reached stunning heights with his ‘Case Study 22.’ While Shulman’s photos help us set the scene, the main character in our story was more likely inspired by another California icon, noir detective novelist Raymond Chandler. Enjoy the vibe.” – Paul Norman Tapp

Lyrics

ACOUSTIC MAN
Words by Paul Norman Tapp © 2024

Pull me in, folio rain
Raise the level, shifting plane
Desert sky, Frank Lloyd space
Dreaming eye, oasis face

Seeing sound, peaceful plan
I've become Acoustic Man
Never mind flamingo fan
I've become Acoustic Man

Martini jazz, Schulman lens
Modern lines, Mercedes Benz
Olive trees, pacific blue
Case study, twenty two

Seeing sound, peaceful plan
I've become Acoustic Man
Never mind flamingo fan
I've become Acoustic Man

Crash-car city, post-op blues
Screaming pity, cane to choose
Walking with the hippest limp
Shed a tear fallen pimp

Hanging on the best I can
Always been Acoustic Man
Chocolate pillows, vanilla divan
Rest my case I'm Acoustic Man
Here I am, Acoustic Man
