I HAVE NO ONE TO FEAR (BUT MY YEARS)
Words by Ron Paul ©2020
In a world full of upside downs
I see myself endlessly spinning 'round
Taking onboard lots of water to bail out the swimmers
Although I can't swim, I might end up rather down
So fade out the lights on my show
And take off my makeup and clothes
I've played all the fools and danced at the ball
Here alone I sit on the wall
Just wipe away all of my tears
I have no one to fear but my years
The lines on my face don't hold any grace
Father time, he knows who I am
And my life's been a story of books
No one looks, no one looks
And we all have parts left to play
At the end of the day
When the curtain closes
No one will notice or remember my name
So fade out the lights on my show
And take off my makeup and clothes
I've played all the fools and danced at the ball
Here alone I sit on the wall
Just wipe away all of my tears
I have no one to fear but my years
The lines on my face don't hold any grace
Father time, he knows who I am
Some one said that one day I'll make good
The way always famous men should
The film has to end and friends have to send their goodbyes
No more laughter just tears wiped away
The clown in his suits had his day
Smiles now frowns left walking around
Curtain closes just left to fall
So fade out the lights on my show
And take off my makeup and clothes
I've played all the fools and danced at the ball
Here alone I sit on the wall
Just wipe away all of my tears
I have no one to fear but my years
The lines on my face don't hold any grace
Father time, he knows who I am
I have no one to fear but my years
